TitleElectron Correlation in New Materials and Nanosystems
Author(s)Scharnberg, Kurt;Kruchinin, Sergei
PublicationDordrecht, Springer Netherlands, 2007.
DescriptionXII, 438 p : online resource
Abstract NoteThe articles collected in this book cover a wide range of materials with extraordinary superconducting and magnetic properties. For many of the materials studied, strong electronic correlations provide a link between these two phenomena which were long thought to be highly antagonistic. Both the progress in our understanding of fundamental physical processes and the advances made towards the development of devices are reported here. The materials studied come in a variety of forms and shapes from bulk to epitaxial films, nano- and heterostructures down to those involving single molecules and double quantum dots. In some cases the structuring serves the study of bulk properties. More often it is the change of these properties with nanostructuring and the properties of different materials in close proximity with each other that are of key interest because of possible application of these materials or heterostructures to quantum computing and spintronics

TitlePhysical Properties of Nanosystems
Author(s)Bonca, Janez;Kruchinin, Sergei
PublicationDordrecht, Springer Netherlands, 2011.
DescriptionX, 340 p : online resource
Abstract NoteRecent advances in nanoscience have demonstrated that fundamentally new physical phenomena are found when systems are reduced to sizes comparable to the fundamental microscopic length scales of the material investigated. There has been great interest in this research due, in particular, to its role in the development of spintronics, molecular electronics and quantum information processing. The contributions to this volume describe new advances in many of these fundamental and fascinating areas of nanophysics, including carbon nanotubes, graphene, magnetic nanostructures, transport through coupled quantum dots, spintronics, molecular electronics, and quantum information processing

TitleNanotechnology in the Security Systems
Author(s)Bon??a, Janez;Kruchinin, Sergei
PublicationDordrecht, Springer Netherlands, 2015.
DescriptionXVII, 286 p. 153 illus., 75 illus. in color : online resource
Abstract NoteThe topics discussed at the NATO Advanced Research Workshop "Nanotechnology in the Security Systems" included nanophysics,???? nanotechnology, ??nanomaterials, sensors, biosensors security systems, explosive?? detection . There have been many significant advances in the past two years and some entirely new directions of research are just opening up.??Recent advances in nanoscience have demonstrated that fundamentally new physical phenomena?? are found when systems are reduced in size with?? dimensions, comparable to the fundamental microscopic?? length scales of the investigated material. Recent developments in nanotechnology and measurement techniques now allow experimental investigation of transport properties of nanodevices. This work will be of interest to researchers working in spintronics, molecular electronics??and quantum information processing
