| Title | Quantum Coherence : From Quarks to Solids |
| Author(s) | P??tz, Walter;Fabian, Jaroslav;Hohenester, Ulrich |
| Publication | Berlin, Heidelberg, Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2006. |
| Description | XIV, 191 p : online resource |
| Abstract Note | Quantum coherence is a phenomenon that plays a crucial role in various forms of matter. The thriving field of quantum information, as well as unconventional approaches to use mesoscopic systems in future optoelectronic devices, provide the exciting background for this set of lectures. The lectures originate from the well-known Schladming Winter Schools and are carefully edited so as to address a broad readership ranging from the beginning graduate student up to the senior scientist wanting to keep up with or to enter newly emerging fields of research |

| Title | Modern Aspects of Spin Physics |
| Author(s) | P??tz, Walter;Fabian, Jaroslav;Hohenester, Ulrich |
| Publication | Berlin, Heidelberg, Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2007. |
| Description | XIII, 129 p : online resource |
| Abstract Note | The spin degree of freedom is an intrinsically quantum-mechanical phenomenon, leading to both intriguing applications (such as quantum information storage and processing) and unsolved fundamental issues (such as "where does the proton spin come from"). The present volume investigates central aspects of modern spin physics in the form of extensive lectures on semiconductor spintronics, the spin-pairing mechanism in high- temperature semiconductors, spin in quantum field theory and the nucleon spin |

| Title | Coherent Control in Atoms, Molecules, and Semiconductors |
| Author(s) | P??tz, Walter;Schroeder, W. Andreas |
| Publication | Dordrecht, Springer Netherlands, 1999. |
| Description | XI, 226 p : online resource |
| Abstract Note | The International Workshop on Coherent Control of Carrier Dynamics in Semiconductors was held May 19 to 22, 1998 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Its intent was to bring together an international and interdisciplinary group of scientists to discuss recent progress, pertinent problems, and open questions in the field of coherent control in atoms, molecules, and semiconductors, in particular. Twenty-seven scientists from the physical chemistry, quantum optics, semiconductor, electrical engineering, and laser communities accepted our invitation and made this event a meeting of exciting presentations and vivid discussions. This volume contains the proceedings of this workshop. Most speakers accepted our invitation to provide a manuscript either on specific aspects of their work or a brief review of their area of research. All manuscripts were reviewed. It is hoped that they provide not merely an overview of most of the issues covered during the workshop, but also represent an account of the current state of coherent control in general. Hence, it is hoped that they are also of interest to a large number of scientists active in one of the areas listed above. The organizers of this workshop would like to thank all the participants for making this meeting a complete success. We are particularly indebted to Dr. Larry R. Cooper at the U.S. Office of Naval Research and Dr |
