| Title | Handbook of Engineering Acoustics |
| Author(s) | M??ller, Gerhard;M??ser, Michael |
| Publication | Berlin, Heidelberg, Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2013. |
| Description | X, 706 p : online resource |
| Abstract Note | This book examines the physical background of engineering acoustics, focusing on empirically obtained engineering experience as well as on measurement techniques and engineering methods for prognostics. Its goal is not only to describe the state of art of engineering acoustics but also to give practical help to engineers in order to solve acoustic problems. It deals with the origin, the transmission and the methods of the abating different kinds of air-borne and structure-borne sounds caused by various mechanisms ??? from traffic to machinery and flow-induced sound. In addition the modern aspects of room and building acoustics, as well as psychoacoustics and active noise control, are covered |

| Title | The Recursion Method : Application to Many-Body Dynamics |
| Author(s) | Viswanath, V.S;M??ller, Gerhard |
| Publication | Berlin, Heidelberg, Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 1994. |
| Description | X, 262 p : online resource |
| Abstract Note | In this monograph the recursion method is presented as a method for the analysis of dynamical properties of quantum and classical many-body systems in thermal equilibrium. Such properties are probed by many different experimental techniques used in materials science. Several representations and formulations of the recursion method are described in detail and documented with numerous examples, ranging from elementary illustrations for tutorial purposes to realistic models of interest in current research in the areas of spin dynamics and low-dimensional magnetism. The performance of the recursion method is calibrated by exact results in a number of benchmark tests and compared with the performance of other calculational techniques. The book addresses graduate students and researchers |
