TitleMultiple Scattering Theory for Spectroscopies : A Guide to Multiple Scattering Computer Codes -- Dedicated to C. R. Natoli on the Occasion of his 75th Birthday
Author(s)S??billeau, Didier;Hatada, Keisuke;Ebert, Hubert
PublicationCham, Springer International Publishing, 2018.
DescriptionXXVII, 401 p. 109 illus., 72 illus. in color : online resource
Abstract NoteThis edited book, based on material presented at the EU Spec Training School on Multiple Scattering Codes and the following MSNano Conference, is divided into two distinct parts. The first part, subtitled ???basic knowledge???, provides the basics of the multiple scattering description in spectroscopies, enabling readers to understand the physics behind the various multiple scattering codes available for modelling spectroscopies. The second part, ???extended knowledge???, presents ???state- of-the-art??? short chapters on specific subjects associated with improving of the actual description of spectroscopies within the multiple scattering formalism, such as inelastic processes, or precise examples of modelling

TitleSpin ??? Orbit-Influenced Spectroscopies of Magnetic Solids : Proceedings of an International Workshop Held at Herrsching, Germany, April 20???23, 1995
Author(s)Ebert, Hubert;Sch??tz, Gisela
PublicationBerlin, Heidelberg, Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 1996.
DescriptionVII, 287 p. 23 illus : online resource
Abstract NotePresented here for the first time are up-to-date reviews of a new and rapidly developing field of investigation: magnetic solids with polarized photons. The current experimental and theoretical fundamentals of the interplay of spin-orbit interaction and magnetism are described and recent advances in the understanding of the related spectroscopic phenomena are outlined. New aspects on a variety of methods are reported, covering magneto-optical Kerr-effect studies, spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, dichroism in X-ray near- and extended-edge absorption, and X-anomalous scattering. The potential of these methods to reveal new insights in the magnetic aspects of the electronic structure and the microscopic origin of magnetic properties is discussed
