Title | The Border Effect in High-Precision Measurement |
Author(s) | Zhou, Wei;Li, Zhiqi;Bai, Lina;Fu, Xiaoning;Qu, Bayi;Miao, Miao |
Publication | Singapore, 1. Imprint: Springer
2. Springer Nature Singapore, 2023. |
Description | XV, 378 p. 229 illus., 77 illus. in color : online resource |
Abstract Note | This book introduces various kinds of high-precision measurements, including the measurements of time and space, digital activity, border sensors and other physical quantities. Further, it demonstrates how to eliminate the quantitative errors believed to be the main problem in measurements using the border effect. In metrology technology, detection resolution is crucial to improving measurement precision in devices and instruments, and since the resolution is limited, a fuzzy area is usually found during detection. As such the book presents numerous experimental findings showing that the measurement precision can be improved by two or three orders of magnitude compared to traditional methods by achieving stability of resolution and more accurately detecting the border of the fuzzy area |

Title | Halide Perovskite Lasers |
Author(s) | Tay, Yong Kang Eugene;He, Huajun;Tian, Xiangling;Li, Mingjie;Sum, Tze Chien |
Publication | Singapore, 1. Imprint: Springer
2. Springer Nature Singapore, 2022. |
Description | VIII, 126 p. 82 illus., 80 illus. in color : online resource |
Abstract Note | This book highlights the rapidly emerging field of solution-processed halide perovskite lasers. These amazing materials not only possess exceptional photovoltaic properties, but are also outstanding optical gain media. Halide perovskites are the latest member of solution-processed optical gain media, joining organics and traditional semiconductor colloidal quantum dots. Amplified spontaneous emission and lasing have been demonstrated in various halide perovskite configurations and nanostructures with wavelengths tunable over the visible and infrared wavelengths (400???1000 nm). This book provides comprehensive information on perovskite lasing, starting with some fundamentals of lasers and their basic operating principles. Unambiguous methods for identifying lasing light emission are presented, while the basic optoelectronic properties of perovskite materials are also discussed, with an emphasis on their photophysics, using ultrafast optical spectroscopy techniques. The viability of perovskites as a gain media within a suitable resonator, as well as the characterization methods for optical gain, are highlighted. The book closes with a discussion on the remaining challenges (such as electrical driven lasing and material stabilities) that need to be tackled, and the future of this new family of lasers |

Title | Amplifiers in Radio Receivers : Characteristics, Operating Principles, and Efficiency |
Author(s) | Dvornikov, Sergey Viktorovich;Kryachko, Alexander Fedotovich;Velmisov, Igor Anatolyevich;Zatuchny, Dmitry Alexandrovich |
Publication | Singapore, 1. Imprint: Springer
2. Springer Nature Singapore, 2022. |
Description | XIII, 249 p. 175 illus : online resource |
Abstract Note | This book presents the basics of building various types of amplifiers, the most widely used in the composition of modern specialized radio receivers, as well as the principles of building digital radio receivers. The rapid development of modern telecommunications systems, aviation equipment, and space systems for various functional purposes, as well as new information technologies, is inextricably linked with the theory of building radio receivers. Radio receivers are an integral part of the radio line, which largely determine the quality of its operation, both in normal operating conditions and in a complex interference environment. Since the creation of the first lightning detector in 1895, the technique of radio receiving devices went a long way to the development of modern automated digital systems. |

2. Springer International Publishing, 2022. |
Description | XV, 291 p. 122 illus., 103 illus. in color : online resource |
Abstract Note | Near-infrared astronomy has become one of the most rapidly developing branches in modern astrophysics. Innovative observing techniques, near-infrared detectors with quantum efficiencies in excess of 90%, highly specialised instruments as well as advanced data reduction techniques have allowed major breakthroughs in various areas like exoplanets, star-forming regions, the supermassive black hole in the Galactic center, and the high-redshift Universe. In this book, the reader will be introduced to the basic concepts of how to prepare near-infrared observations with maximized scientific return. Equal weight is given to all aspects of the data reduction for both - imaging and spectroscopy. Information is also provided on the state of the art instrumentation available and planned, on detector technology or the physics of the atmosphere, all of which influence the preparation and execution of observations and data reduction techniques. The beginner but also the expert will find a lot of information in compact form which is otherwise widely dispersed across the internet or other sources |
