TitleInterstellar medium : With the collaboration of Edith Falgarone and Charles Ryter
Author(s)James Lequeux
PublicationBerlin, Springer, 2005.
Description437p.
Contents NoteThe purpose of the book is to describe interstellar matter in our galaxy in all its various forms, and to consider the physical and chemical processes that are occuring within this matter. the first seven chapters of this book present the various components making up the interstellar matter and detail the wasy that we are able to study them. The following seven chapters are devoted to the physical, chemical and dynamical processes that control the behaviour of interstellar matter. This includes the instabilities and cloud collapse processes that lead to the formation of stars. The last chapter summarizes the transformations that can occur between the different phases of the interstellar medium.
