| Abstract Note | These proceedings are dedicated to the Grand Interferometre a 2 Telescopes (GI2T) and the Infrared-Optical Telescope Array (IOTA) Interferometers. After more than a decade of observations and countless contributions to interferometry, these facilities are shutting down in 2006. These interferometers have shown the power of clever ideas and hard work, having made groundbreaking contributions to stellar astronomy within very modest budgets.
This year also marked the founding of the SPIE Dissertation Prize in Interferometry, funded by a $1000 donation from New Focus. The co-winners this year were announced during the meeting : Antoine Merand (Observatoire de Paris, Meudon) and Matthew Muterspaugh (California Institute of Technology). |
