TitlePrinciples of physics: From Quantum Field Theory to Classical Mechanics
Author(s)Ni Jun
PublicationNew Jersey, World Scientific Publishing Co. Pvt. Ltd., 2014.
Descriptionxvi, 426p.
Series(Tsinghua Report and Review in Physics)
Abstract NoteThis book starts from a set of common basic principles to establish the formalisms in all areas of fundamental physics, including quantum field theory, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, general relativity, electromagnetic field, and classical mechanics. Instead of the traditional pedagogic way, the author arranges the subjects and formalisms in a logical-sequential way, i.e. all the formulas are derived from the formulas before them. The formalisms are also kept self-contained. Most of the required mathematical tools are also given in the appendices. Although this book covers all the disciplines of fundamental physics, the book is concise and can be treated as an integrated entity. This is consistent with the aphorism that simplicity is beauty, unification is beauty, and thus physics is beauty. The book may be used as an advanced textbook by graduate students. It is also suitable for physicists who wish to have an overview of fundamental physics.

TitleDynamics of particles and the electromagnetic field
Author(s)Slobodan Danko Bosanac
PublicationNew Jersey, World Scientific Publishing Co. Pvt. Ltd., 2005.
Descriptionxxiv, 471p.
Series(World Scientific Series in Contemporary Chemical Physics; 24)
Contents NoteAdvances in experimental techniques are allowing researchers to investigate the extremes of the dynamics of particle interactions with electromagnetic fields. The theoretical tools at our dispolsal are classical and quatum mechanics. In the first three parts of the book, Newton dynamics is formulated from the Liouville equation. In the third part, this forms the basis for implementing the uncertainty postulate to formulate quantum mechanics. The theories of relativity and electromagnetic interactions are derived from one of the five postulates in the second part, and the unification of the dynamics of particles and electromagnetic fields is formulated in the second and the third parts.
