Abstract NoteDedicated to memory of Giuliano Giuricin (June 15, 1950 - May 14, 2001)
Contents NoteThe aim of the Sesto-2001 workshop was to provide a status-of-art overview on multiwavelength studies of galaxy clusters, from X-ray to UV, optical, near-and far IR, sub-mm and radio bands. Two complementary aspects of cluster studies was emphasized. From the one hand, clusters of galaxies have been presented as powerful tracers of the structure of the Universe over the largest today accessible scales and over a sizeable fraction of the cosmological past light-cone. From the other hand clusters are powerful astrophysical laboratories, where to study the history of cosmic baryons and the processes of galaxy formation and evolution.
