TitleCameras and Display Systems Towards Photorealistic 3D Holography
Author(s)Li, Jin;Hong, Jintao;Zhang, Yi;Li, Xiaoxun;Liu, Zilong;Liu, Yanyan;Chu, Daping
PublicationCham, 1. Imprint: Springer 2. Springer International Publishing, 2023.
DescriptionXVIII, 138 p. 90 illus., 85 illus. in color : online resource
Abstract NoteThis book presents recent advances in three-dimensional (3D) imaging and display frameworks, encompassing three categories of 3D imaging and display technologies. The first category is nonphotorealistic 3D approaches based on conventional optical cameras to implement 3D stereoscopic observation of a scene. In the context of nonphotorealistic 3D imaging and reconstruction systems, the authors introduce general principles and also demonstrate camera calibration for 3D imaging, smart cameras, and full-link imaging methods using the optical modulation transfer function to improve imaging quality in conventional cameras. The second category is based on light-ray light field technology to achieve photorealistic 3D imaging and displays. In the context of light-ray light field systems, two approaches capable of light-ray light field 3D imaging by utilizing a camera array or a lens array are demonstrated. Accordingly, light-ray light field display approaches comprising head-mounted displays and integral displays are also introduced. The third category is also photorealistic 3D imaging and display technology, which is based on holography (i.e., diffraction or wavefront light field). In the corresponding holographic displays, the authors introduce 3D holographic displays from three elements: algorithms, devices, and systems, involving fast hologram generation algorithms, wide-viewing-angle display systems, and metasurface holography, etc. Including an investigative roadmap for future progress in optical imaging and 3D display systems, this book is essential reading for scientists and engineers in academia and industry who are interested in next-generation imaging and display concepts for 3D visual sensing systems

TitlePhotoelectric Detection on Derived Attributes of Targets
Author(s)Yang, Xing;Hu, Yihua
PublicationSingapore, 1. Imprint: Springer 2. Springer Nature Singapore, 2023.
DescriptionXII, 302 p. 209 illus., 91 illus. in color : online resource
Abstract NoteThis book highlights the novel photoelectric detection technique on derived attributes of targets. Photoelectric detection on derived attributes of targets is a new target detection and monitoring method. It is achieved by acquiring three types of attributes of the target, including those that reflect the essential features of parts of the target, those directly generated from the target, and those synthesized by the target features. The book introduces the classification of derived attributes of targets and describes typical detection methods. Emphases are put on laser detection of aerial moving targets, using derived attributes such as the disturbance of atmospheric wind fields, trailing vortexes, and the disturbance of atmospheric components. The authors also elaborate on visible light imaging detection using derived attributes such as retroreflection and the identification of target carriers. Besides, the synthetic attributes processing of integrated aerospace images is introducedfor the detection of targets on the ground and sea surfaces. This book can be used as a good reference for researchers engaged in the fields of photoelectric detection, target detection and image processing, and as a reference book for senior undergraduates and postgraduates in relevant majors

Abstract NoteThis book highlights advances in the field of THz engineering along with limitations of radio frequency (RF) technology. All engineering applications have been designed to operate over a specific frequency or wavelength range in electromagnetic spectrum. In recent years, the unexplored domain of THz range of electromagnetic spectrum has paved the way for terahertz technology due to its nonionizing nature and sensitivity to water content. A wide range of applications with THz techniques such as terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), biological, medical and pharmaceutical sciences, explosives inspection, information and communication technology (ICT) sector and many more, have potential to be the technology of future. Different designing aspects and evolving application areas are addressed to enrich the technical knowledge of readers. This book provides an overview of state of the art in terms of research and industrial progress in THz spectrum

TitleSlopes and Levels : Spice Models to Simulate Vintage Op-Amp Noise
Author(s)Vogel, Burkhard
PublicationCham, 1. Imprint: Springer 2. Springer International Publishing, 2022.
DescriptionXXX, 333 p. 337 illus., 175 illus. in color : online resource
Abstract NoteThis book features an extensive index and all Mathcad worksheets. Vinyl is back, tubes/valves are back, on the high-end field SMD-free analog amplification surpasses digitalized chains, and top microphone manufacturers still set on good old op-amps or on fully discrete BJT, FET, and/or tube-driven amplifiers. There is only one problem that is not satisfyingly well solved by the manufacturers: It is the noise production of the active components and the useful reflection in simulation tools, in tables or graphs of the datasheets/data books. Nowadays, mostly surrounded by many digital helping tools, it makes sense using them???also by analog aficionados. It saves cost and time simulating first before spending money. Presented in this book the software tool LTSpice which is the free software solution from Linear Technology (today Analog Devices) that could also be used by full analog lovers to simulate the noise production of their amplifier design. All we need is the right creation approach to develop simulation models for the active components. Inter alia this is already done for tubes and BJTs in the 2nd editions of my ???How to Gain Gain??? and ???Balanced Phono-Amps??? books. For op-amps, the missing approaches are presented in the book on hand. It cannot be denied that mathematical software like Mathcad is extremely helpful to find the right equations for graphically presented noise curves which we can find in the literature. Nevertheless, it also works well with other types of math software to fulfill the parameter needs of the here presented modeling approaches for the input referred voltage and current noise of???not only???excellent sounding vintage op-amps, applicable in the audio range from 1 Hz to 100 kHz
